At the same time, he was a professional handball player in the highest Swiss league and on the Swiss national team for over a decade, most recently as captain of Pfadi Winterthur. He ended his athletic career in 2024. He speaks German and English, is married, loves to travel with his wife, and appreciates good Italian food.
