Conviction

The single best asset manager unfortunately does not exist. There is however a clear trend towards specialisation in the industry. In the long run, high client satisfaction can only be achieved when requirements are clearly defined, the manager selection is done in a competitive tender process, and the selected solutions are regularly reviewed. This process leads to better results, lower cost and makes things more transparent for clients.

To avoid conflicts of interest, independent advice has to be separate from the asset management provider: as it has been in the institutional segment. ZWEI Wealth does not manage assets, nor are we paid by banks and asset managers. This leads to an objective and unbiased assessment of all market participants, like it has not existed before.

Education and professional career

Daniel Hug graduated with an Executive MBA from Bern and Rochester University in 1999. He is also an Alumnus of the Advanced Management Program (2006) of INSEAD, Fontainebleau.

Daniel was responsible for the UHNW Business at LGT from 2015-2021. Before that, he worked at UBS Wealth Management as a Managing Director for Multi Family Offices (2011-2015) and at UBS Corporate & Institutional Clients as the Head of Western Europe for Banks and regulated brokers (2007-2011). From 2002, Daniel Hug was a Regional Manager and Client Relationship Director for Banks in Switzerland and Liechtenstein at UBS Investment Bank. From 1991, he held various positions at Bankverein, Warburg Dillon Read and UBS Switzerland, covering amongst others Bank for Banks, Global Trade Finance and Business Development for Middle and Near East. Daniel brings a wealth of experience in banking into his new role at ZWEI Wealth.
